Saskatoon, being the largest and most economically diverse city in Saskatchewan, continues to lead in a province hit by lower energy prices. Its economic diversity has helped to buffer the downtrend that many other cities in this energy focused provinces have experienced. This diversity has also helped cushion the housing and commercial real estate market from dramatic downturns that have been witnessed in other Western Canadian cities, which has proven positive for real estate investors and home owners in Saskatoon.
